2010 Energy Reading for Sandra

Sandra, for your reading I divided the year into quarters, and visualized the energy of the year in sort of horizonal colored bands running from the top of the calendar year to the bottom.

FIRST QUARTER OF YEAR

The first quarter had a very vibrant feel to it. Lots of red and orange energy. Energy and vitality are very strong in the First part of the year. Excitement is high. Things are going on. Busy but also fun.

SECOND QUARTER OF YEAR

In this quarter, I see more blues, but these are friendly blue tones. They have a light to them. The energy and excitement of the first quarter have faded, but there is a quiet happiness. Everything is not perfect, but emotions are important at this time, and overall you feel emotionally satisfied. Things are calm and for the most part, comfortable as well.

THIRD QUARTER OF YEAR

The energy here is the most dull of the year. I don't sense anything catastrophic, but there is not an overabundance of joy or comfort here. Maroons and Dark blues are here, absorbing light rather than reflecting light. Perhaps you'll come down sigh a minor illness or money will be a little tight for awhile, something along those lines of difficulty. Again, I don't sense anything really that bad here, but just a sense of melancholy or inertia.

FOURTH QUARTER OF YEAR

This one seemed the most interesting to me. It came through as deep, substantial shades of purple. The color you might envision to represent wisdom. These have light behind them too (like stained-glass). I think this time of the year for you will be about understanding with great clarity things you have had trouble with before. Things will make sense. You will have a good sense at this time of what is good for you and what isn't. I would associate this period with the Crone archetype (versus the Maiden or Mother archetype). Experience, wisdom, understanding are key words.

Could i get a reading, you have permission to post it on your site as well as my reaction to it.
I want to know where my mr. right is ?

The Reading:

Whenever someone asks me a question, I try to answer other questions they might be asking, or answer other questions that might give them a better idea of how good of a feeling i have for their situation (so that they'll know whether my reading was a *hit* or a *miss*).

So I asked where you were right now as far as how you felt about your love-life situation currently. I pulled Hermit, 7 cups, 10 cups, and the Star. Although you're not in a relationship right now, and sometimes you feel lonely and think that being with someone else would make things better, I think you also understand at some level that being single is necessary to knowing/understanding yourself. I do think there are a few guys who you're interested in and who are attracted to you. I think you like the emotional, flirtational back and forth with these people, and you do it with love and with genuine kindness. There's something very independent about you...you love emotional intensity, but like your independence as well (i get this from later cards as well).

Then I asked what kind of relationship would best satisfy the kind of relationship you want and need. I pulled Queen of Swords, Death, Knight of Cups, 4 of wands, and Temperance. You want romance, kindness, sweetness, and the heights and depths of emotional intensity. At the same time, you want a very tight bond with someone. Nothing that is superficial, even though you do want this person to be someone who will go out with you to socialize, and you don't mind having public displays of affection, you also more importantly want the commitment to be there when t here's nobody else around to see it. Again, I'm getting your independent spirit. You are intelligent, a good conversationalist, opinionated, and you want to be respected for those traits. You don't need a macho, controlling guy.

I asked what the person would be like who you would end up having this kind of relationship with. I got king of pentacles, 7 of wands, and ace of cups. I think he'll be the kind of guy who's had to work for what he's got, but he knows how to be successful and handle his material life (the world of money and possessions). He's also a very loving and tender guy. Since he's had to struggle himself to make his achievements, he will appreciate your need for independence.

Your real question was "where is my mr. right," and I do think there's someone around you right now who you have that potential with. It's just a matter of taking the opportunity, putting forth the effort to make it materialize, and don't force things to move too quickly.

Also, although you are independent, I feel like sometimes you have trouble appreciating "alone time." Do that! Go to movies on your own, our out to dinner. Enjoy what it is like to be in your own company, and take full advantage of the opportunities you have to do that. This will also help you in your future relationship. :)

The Reading:

I'm feeling like an area that needs special focus is that of your love life. I feel like you've been in circumstances where you feel you are in competition for the "woman of your dreams" and although you puruse these love interests with passion and care, you are either let down by not getting what you wanted, or in some cases, let down because you DID get what you wanted, and it turned out it wasn't as fulfilling as you thought it would be!

Examine what the real causes are of this reaction. What keeps you emotionaly dissatisfied with your romantic partners? The roots of these emotions need to be taken care of, and they come from somewhere deep inside you (think of the associations with the Moon card here--the mysterious, the dark, the unknowable). This part of you is not entirely unknowable, though...you just have to go there, go into yourself as fully as you can and find the source of this.

Begin to think of relationships not as achievements in and of themselves, but as areas to grow and nurture yourself and others. If you do that, you'll have a lot less anxiety about your relationships. Think of yourself as a farmer who is cultivating a garden. Your garden will not bring forth vegetation overnight, and even when you begin to see tomatoes on the vine, the work is not over. Gardening is a continual process, just like relationships. Sow, reap, put away for hard times, sow reap, put away for hard times, and deal with hard times (together).

How will this aid in the greater transformation for all? It is important that you, individually, find happiness and fulfillment. You need love. Others need to see that love has provided for you to better understand how it can also provide for them.

I've been sitting with our reading for a couple of days to digest it. I see now how clear you are. Actually, I have recently been blessed with so much open love around me...in my home, work, intimate life. I realize now how foreign it has been feeling to have friends love me and support me with such freedom. I have been admiring this in them and taking steps to open up myself more to nurture them as well, seeing and feeling the joy it brings. You have helped me see that this is something that has and is standing in my way... a blockage to growth. Thank you for bringing me to this guidance and I will continue to face this. I especially liked your garden analogy! It is so true. Much love and support to you in your practice. The world will benefit from your continuing on this path!

Sometimes it's good just to get a little "life journey" check-in reading, like this one I did for Shawna.

What are the main things/experiences/themes/whatever you want to call it that I'll be dealing with in the next 5 years or so?

My Reading:

The strongest cards coming out were page of cups and 3 of swords. Becoming more emotionally mature...moving beyond casual relationships look to be lessons here. Learning to put yourself on the line more in life, to allow yourself to get hurt, and to grow from the pain you will experience will also be the kind of experience you should expect.

I also pulled King of Pentacles paired with 7 of cups. I feel this has to do with with learning about now to navigate through your various wishes/desires in order to become financially secure and successful. I clarified this reading by pulling the 2 of pentacles, queen of cups, and Judgment. This makes me think that you have been too emotional in the past in regards to money...both spending and earning it.

This has caused you to be unsuccessful at times in making ends meet, and things have been really tight financially for you in the past. Over the next few years you will make some really dramatic and successful changes as far as this goes. I think you'll become very adept at handling your finances and your material success.

I think there will be a lot of learning for you to come as well. School/academic type learning. (8 of pentacles, Knight of Pentacles, and Hierophant). You'll "learn from the masters" so to speak. You'll learn from reading/studying what other people before you have written/thought/accomplished. You will enjoy this process, even if it will be hard.

I think you'll also be working on honing your intuitive skills. I see High Priestess reversed, 7 of cups (again) and 9 of swords. You'll have a lot of anxiety about this process, thinking you're doing things the wrong way, feeling confused about what you're doing and/or feeling. You'll feel like it's an important part of your life to cultivate, this psychic, spiritual side of yourself, but it will be difficult for you. More difficult than the book learning I talked about before!

My Reading:

I pulled 8 of cups, King of Pentacles, the Fool, and 9 of pentacles initially.

I think yes, you will eventually marry (if that is what you choose to do, and since you obviously want to, then you *will* choose to when the time comes!). You will be able to leave behind the past wherein your relationships did not meet your expectations, or did not lead to the kind of committed married life you were hoping for in order to get to the marriage you desire to have.

The man will be a mature, earthy type. He will be solid, reliable, and successful. But based on other cards I'm pulling about his personality (10 of cups, 7 of cups, Lovers, and 3 of swords), I'm guessing he's not just the typical King of Pentacles type. He will have intense emotions, as well. He will be able to create a happy, loving home with you, but there will be times of jealous, possessiveness, and hurt feelings. You will have a very strong relationship, but there will be times when his heart is broken either by things you have actually done to him or by things he just perceives or fears you have done (such as...dun-dun-dun...cheating). But all in all, he's sturdy, reliable, solid, dependable. He will be loyal to you.

You will feel secure with him, and the relationship you have with him will allow you leisure time that you will use to your benefit. You will feel a little bit torn sometimes between feeling secure and happy with him and feeling like you would like to be able to, like the Fool, have all the freedom you used to have. You might be able to find the fine line that separates the two...using the wealth privileges of the relationship you have with him to go travel, explore what you feel needs to be explored in the world, etc.

I also sense for you that this relationship will sometimes cause you intense worry...it will make you grow up in some ways. That is so amazing. You have no idea. That not only meshes with my horary, but our composite charts and my natal birth chart. Yes, I do believe it is the guy I am currently in love with. He IS a strong earth (Virgo stellium, with Cap Sun), but very moody and jealous, etc. I am freaking out.

And you got my personality so well. I hate to lose my autonomy... I am all about independence, yet I do want to spend my life with my soul mate.

He is of the past, yes. I won't go into detail over the net, but you are dead on.

My Response: I asked first, "where is Jillian right now in relation to career?"

I pulled 9 of swords, judgment, and 7 of wands. Obviously, you are feeling a lot of anxiety about this particular aspect of your life (not surprising since you are asking me about it). You feel like a lot is expected of you, or possibly that there are changes occuring that you feel you have no control over and that are making you nervous. You feel like you've having to fight to keep the ground you have covered so far in your career...as if everyday is a battle, but you don't really feel like you're getting ahead.

Then I asked for the future of the next few years... I pulled Strength, 7 of cups, 6 of wands, and Temperance. These are a great set of cards. The anxieties you're feeling right now will eventually come to pass. You'll feel more assured about your career, you'll have options available to you, although you might be a little confused about which option to take, but whatever you choose, you will be successful. Temperance I think is just hinting at your general ability in the years to come to keep a level head about your work life, something that might be a little harder for you now because you don't feel you have as much security as you'd like.

I asked if there was anything else i could tell you that would be helpful. i pulled page of pentacles, 8 of pentacles, temperance again, chariot, and the moon.

apparently the tarot has a lot to say to you! I'm feeling like the message is sort of that things are going to be going slowly for awhile. don't expect any sudden big successes or drastic upward changes, but if you put in the time and the effort, it will pay off. Hang tight, in other words. If you try to rush forward too quickly, the Chariot will topple over...so move forward cautiously. Life works in cycles, and the next few years will bring steadily better career life for you, but it won't happen overnight.

Thank you for your reply! I like that the Temperance card keeps coming out. Saturn just entered my 2nd house so it does seem to reinforce a message. I just have one more question, will my job changes include a move to another country in the future?

You asked if your career would ever lead you to another country. My logical, non-intuitive response would be to tell you that if you want it to, you can make that happen.

But beyond that, the cards are VERY positive about this. There is a lot of good energy here: ace of cups, 8 of wands, Star, 3 of pentacles, Strength.

The energy is working in your favor, here. You are good at what you do, and people do realize that and that good work will be rewarded. Moving to another country will be in line with your spiritual growth, as well. I think there will be exciting times for you as far as this goes. :) This was an extremely positive reading.

Like in the other reading, though, I don't feel this coming really, really soon. I sense that there will be waiting...you'll be slowly sailing toward where you want to be, but it will definitely pay off. I'm excited for you!

My Response:

Well, the Page of Wands from the earlier reading makes a lot of sense there. The page is unafraid to try new things creatively. They're still in the learning process...so it's okay for the page to paint a picture or write a poem and end up with a really ugly painting or a really bad poem. For the page, the process of being creative is more important than the product. The page is young and lets him/herself have fun with the creative process without worrying too much about pressure to succeed, or about what other people think. You also had the Knight of Pentacles reversed...telling you not to be so much like the Knight of Pentacles. Oddly, the Knight would be someone interested in a healing profession, but I don't think that in and of itself is what the tarot is telling you to stop doing. (actually working in acupuncture is probably a very helpful thing to do). I think the message is more: stop WORRYIINIG...stop holding yourself back. Don't be so concerned with the process or the outcome or perfection. You are creatively talented, but the Knight of Pentacles is the type of personality that puts too much pressure on him/herself to be just perfect. It is also a card about inertia...it is a very slowwwww card. You're having a lot of trouble pulling yourself out of a Knight of Pentacles mentality because any kind of change is slow and difficult and worrisome when you are the Knight of Pentacles.

Let me see what other cards I can pull:

10 of Wands, 8 of Pentacles, and Knight of Cups

Anytime the wands show up in a reading about creativity, that is a good sign. The ten is a sign of great burden, but also a signal that you are coming to a culmination where you have learned a certain lesson and will need to take that new knowledge and begin learning a new lesson. You know that creative expression will be beneficial to you emotionally and will help you with the grieving and with the depression/anxiety that you are dealing with, BUT that knowledge is also painful because you feel unsure how to go about releasing your creations. Regardless, you have reached a point where a lesson has been learned, which means you can begin to learn a new lesson.

The new lesson is how to enjoy your ability to create, and perfecting your skill while you're at it, like the man in the 8 of pentacles card does. (I am using rider/waite for reference). The first pentacle he made wasn't so great. The next was a little better, and so on. Eventually he will be a master of his creations. He will become the person on the 9 of pentacles card who is surrounded by the beauty of the gardens he has planted (to be metaphorical). Then he will be the person from the 10 of pentacles, surrounded by creative wealth and by the people who love him, by the relationships that keep him stable and secure.

The Knight of Cups here, I think, is saying to begin by noticing how emotions can be wonderful. Treat interactions with other people as a blessing whenever you can. Even if you have a bad interaction with another person, think of how wonderful it is that you have such a depth and range of emotions to draw from in your creative work. (I want to be clear, I'm not trying to tell you to think every asshole you meet is a great person or that you have to be ms. sunshine, but just recognize that all of your emotions are important...it is necessary to feel them all--your soul needs to experience these emotions--but the emotion of joy is an especially important one...so open yourself up to the possibility of that one whenever you can).

I asked to look more into the Knight of Cups meaning and I got 2 of cups, 5 of wands, and High Priestess.

Again...learning to deal with relationships is going to be important to your creative process just as your ability to let out, to RELEASE your creations will be helpful to your relationships. Harmony (2 of cups) and Conflict (5 of wands) are both necessary. The High Priestess understands the necessary of both! Like her, you realize this as well.

Hannah asked: I have had long-standing health issues that i can no longer tolerate (i know im being vague). ive tried everything i know. i would really appreciate any insight on a new perspective or action to take in resolving this and healing.

My Response:

You asked about a vague health issue. Health readings are so hard anyway! lol. If you went to a doctor you would at least tell them your symptons. :P But since you're seeking help from a metaphysical source, the prognosis will also be metaphysical (i.e. i'm not going to prescribe you medicine).

Theblocks I see to you being able to heal from this issue are 3 of swords reversed and the Tower.

There has been something sudden and catastrophic in your life that has been either the direct or indirect root cause of this health issue you have now. Emotionally/spiritually/mentally, as well as physically, you have not been able to let yourself grieve properly over what has happened. You need to begin to do that now. You need to find a way of catharsis. Yoga, meditation, watching tearjerkers and letting yourself open up fully and *really* *really* cry could be helpful.

The advice cards I have pulled for you are the Knight of Pentacles reversed and the Page of Wands upright. Don't keep waiting for this illness to heal itself, for life to begin once this health issue is resolved. You need to be adventurous, to live life fully.

I'm also getting something about cutting loose the addictions/dependencies that bind you and make your relationships suffer. If you do this you will be able to make new ground emotionally and heal this wound this has come suddenly and unexpectedly into your life. Again, I'm getting the 3 of swords, telling you to find ways to grieve, to find catharsis, to purge these hurtful emotions that are holding you back.

ok so you just completely blew my mind gabby!! that is seriously the best (unfortunately) reading ive ever had. first off, the tower is a big one for me, symbolizing my greatest fear- falling. i cant even look at the card sometimes, and i havent flown in almost ten years because of this fear. 3 of swords- the # 3 has always been my fav, born on the third, etc. swords as air element makes a lot of sense too. the interpretation is dead on, more importantly.

My Response:

I pulled initially 5 of wands, the Devil, and 8 of Cups.

There will be conflict with your parents, but you do have to get it over with, and the argument that may ensue will be frustrating, but not volcanic. From some of the other cards I pulled, I'm sensing that it's especially important that you are honest with your mother about all this, and it might be better to tell her about it first. She might help you figure out how to work through all of this with your father.

I'm also sensing that you should not dwell on this when you talk to your mother about it. Get it out in the open, and either have an excuse to leave soon after or be able to change the subject to something not as emotionall draining.

I would not introduce your partner to them until after they already know about him (that's probably just common sense, but it's also what I'm getting from the tarot).

Linda's Response to the Reading, and Follow-Up Question:

Gabby just one question. My parents do already know about him; that he's outside of my race but they don't know I am already living with him; this is something that is frowned upon by my religion. I dont intend to introduce him to them as yet. I was told by my mother that my father would not like to see him until he converts which my love is able to do. What's your sense of that?

My Follow-Up Reading:

As far as your father's feelings...I pulled 10 of wands, Knight of Swords, and 5 of Wands (this one is showing up a second time).
The message here seems to be that in order to build mature, long-lasting relationships with both your parents and your partner, you will have to have these converations. It looks like you've already been using your mother as a sort of go-between to gauge what your father is feeling about the situation, and that's probably wise to continue doing for awhile. They do both need to know how you feel about the situation, that your partner is living with you, and that he cannot convert.

You will have to bear the burden of this. You will have to defend your relationship. The five of wands yet again indicates to me that this is not going to be a volcanic situation, but there will certainly be conflict (no surprise!). It's not the kind of conflict that cannot be overcome.

I also asked if your parents would ever accept him enough to meet him. I pulled the Knight of Pentacles and the Page of Pentacles. Neither of them is going to rush into seeing him, but they are both loyal to you. The will not break off ties with you over this. But they are definitely conservative people and will not accept newness in their lives quickly. I feel that in time, they will be open to meeting him, but you will have to gain ground slowly. Your mother is more open to it than your father, as you already indicated, but even she would not be gung ho about meeting him. More than anything, it's probably just scary for them. But they will continue to be there for you, conflict or no.

It is probably better for all concerned that it go slowly, anyway. You need to build your relationship with your partner before they will understand how important he is to your life, and having him face the unwelcome arms of your parents too soon could be really hard for him, and hard for your growth as a couple. I would say to keep him informed of how your parents feel, but don't rush either parties about trying to get them to meet each other in person.

When I pulled cards about how this is for your partner, I got Queen of Pentacles, the Moon, and Justice.

He will stand by you. He understands how difficult this is for you, although it is difficult forhim as well. He knows that you are from a conservative background and that even though you are no longer so conservative yourself, you are not the type to just abandon your parents and not care at all how they feel about your life. He respects that you are concerned with maintaining your relationship with your parents. He is willing to do this the right way...to take the necessary time to make it all work.

Anyway... it will be okay! My very conservative parents just accepted that my sister got pregnant out of wedlock with a person of a different race and nationality. They don't know her that he's of a different religion, but I expect they'll accept that too when the time comes. These things happen all the time, and because your parents do love you, they will learn to accept your other loves.

Inwardly, he will be thinking that he's invested a lot into this emotionally and otherwise, and he will be trying to assess what progress he's made with you so far. It will not make him think that it's a sure thing...but he will want to continue the hard work of creating/building a relationship with you. (7 of pentacles)

His outward response to you will be warm and emotionally mature. He will be very kind and loving in his response to you. He will let you know that he wants this to progress even further. (6 of swords and king of cups).

I think there also may be a problem with him being a show off about it to his friends. "dude, she totally told me she wants me," or whatever. But men are silly like that...you have to forgive them a little. :P (based on pulling 7 of swords).

Pulling two 6 pip cards (the number six is associated with lovers) makes me think there is good potential here. The King of Cups as his significator bodes well... I think he will be good for you, and good to you.

thank you for the tarot reading. It made me have a bit of relief... I do think he's invested a lot already and probably has gotten fed up with the way that I act. I am hoping he is patient... I am very moody and hard to understand. That's why I thought speaking to him about my feelings might help things.
