What Can I Learn from an

Astrological Reading?

Natal Charts

Your “natal chart” shows the placements of the Sun, Moon, and all of the planets at the time of your birth.  It also shows us which sign was rising at the time of your birth, commonly referred to as your “ascendant.”

Your chart, like all charts, is divided into 12 “Houses,” which concern various areas of our lives, including partnership, career, friendship, and family roots.  Where your ascendant begins is where your First House begins.

Meaning can be found in your natal chart based upon (a) the sign placement of planets* (b) the house placement of planets (c) aspects between planets.

“Aspects” occur when one planet is located a certain degree from another planet.  Some aspects are “harmonious” and some are “difficult.”  A square aspect of 90°, for instance, is a difficult aspect, one which causes friction.  A trine aspect of 120° is very harmonious and creates an energy that you express very easily.

In your Natal Chart Reading, I will discuss what I feel to be the most prominent and important elements of your chart.

*When astrologers refer to the Sun, Moon, and Planets collectively, they simply use the word “planets,” for ease, though of course the Sun and Moon are not really planets.

Synastry Charts

A “synastry” chart reading aligns each of two individual people's charts together within one chart so that an astrologer can see clearly how each person's astrological placements interact with the other’s placements.  As with the Natal Chart, we are interested in seeing the aspects planets make to each other as well as which houses of your partner’s chart your own planets fall within and vice versa.  A Couple's Astrology Report will incude a Synastry Reading, a Composite Reading (see below for explanation), and a Natal Chart Reading for each person.

Composite Charts

A “composite” chart reading combines your two charts to create a separate chart by locating the "midpoint" between each of your planetary placements.  This midpoint then serves as your shared placement for that planet.  This chart is both of your natal energies mixed together to represent the relationship as a whole, or, how the two of you function as one unit.
A Couple's Astrology Report will include a Composite Reading, a Synastry Reading, and a Natal Chart Reading for each person.
